// Hello, World!
Computer Engineering undergraduate at the University of Peradeniya, focused on Explainable AI, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, and cybersecurity - also a compere & musician.
I'm an undergraduate in the Department of Computer Engineering at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Focused on the interpretability and practical deployment of Deep Learning models, my research experience involves developing Explainable AI (XAI) frameworks that provide human-readable reasons for model decisions, specifically within Zero-Trust network environments.
Beyond networking, I apply Computer Vision to scientific challenges in Agriculture, such as automated plant phenotyping. I combine a strong mathematical foundation with an adversarial mindset developed as a national CTF finalist to build AI systems that are both transparent and robust.
Outside the STEM work, I'm an active compere & announcer-hosting 10+ events and an occassional musician who plays saxophone and guitar.
Research Member in developing a Zero-Trust pipeline that classifies encrypted network traffic without decryption using deep learning models. Integrating XAI methods (SHAP, LIME) to provide human-readable interpretability for each anomaly detection decision, enabling transparent and accountable network security.
Research Member building a multi-camera rail system that performs CNN-based Leaf Area Index (LAI) estimation for automated plant phenotyping. Applying Computer Vision techniques to agricultural research challenges for real-time, non-destructive crop analysis.
2025 • C#, Unity, Photon Engine, ESP32, MPU6050
Led a 5-member team building a VR golf game with real-time multiplayer. Implemented Photon networking & Photon Voice 2 for lobby/matchmaking and in-game voice chat. Designed the Kalman-filtered ESP32–MPU6050 motion controller pipeline for real-time swing detection and built core VR interaction with XR Interaction Toolkit.
2026 • 24-Hour Hackathon • React, Spring Boot, Kafka, MySQL, Redis
Built a secure Electronic Health Records platform in a 24-hour hackathon. Developed the React frontend, established API connectivity between frontend & Spring Boot microservices, and authored integration tests for end-to-end validation.
2025 • Python, OpenCV, CNN, U-Net
Project lead for a team of 5 developing a CNN + U-Net architecture trained on CIE LAB color space to predict chrominance channels from luminance input. Automated realistic colorization of grayscale photographs.
2025 • Arduino, C++
Led a 5-member team to create a physical, hardware-based visualization tool that demonstrates how a perceptron updates its weights and makes binary decisions - bridging ML theory and hands-on learning with LEDs & microcontrollers.
2023–2024 • Spring Boot, Flutter, JWT
Developed a teledentistry platform deployed in Sri Lankan government hospitals. Wrote API documentation, conducted code reviews, and contributed to the Spring Boot backend with JWT-based authentication.
2023 • C, Algorithms, Graph Theory
Implemented and benchmarked classic pathfinding using flood filling algorithm, optimizing for performance and memory efficiency across varying obstacle densities.
